It has been incredibly helpful reviewing the work that we did over the 2 weeks of the course. I will be keeping all of the PowerPoints that Roxanne uploaded to acorn. There are so many resources that I can use. What I found truly inspiring was that these resources are truly cross-curricular. I am so thankful that I took this course. I have learned more about special needs and disabilities in this c
We worked in groups today learning about FUNdamentals, which is a long term athlete development model for all individuals. Roxeanne also gave us a number of different websites that we explored which have amazing resources. They include:
1. Canadian Sport for Life: find what you need to know about Fundamentals here.
2. PE Central: a health and pe website that has great information on Adapated Physical Education and offers lesson plans for pe teachers.
3. Physical Health and Education Canada: as a high school resource teacher, there is excellent information on challenges high school students face in obtaining physical activity and strategies that can be used to help them.
4. NCHPAD: Building Healthy Inclusive Communities: I love this webswite. It has an copious amount of information to provide students with special needs opportunities for physical activity.
5. SHAPE America: I would definetly use the Webinars!
6. Project Inspire: Lots of great information here, I really liked the section on LRE.
